I can finally say I feel confident that I mastered the at least 2 hour nap in the afternoon. I've been doing it for about 10 days and only once did O wake up an hour after crying, so I stuck the soother in and she slept another hour.
I have to say getting on a good daily schedule has been tough. I'm so orderly with things I do but I could not get this one figured out until now. Babies change so much, so fast, that as they change there needs change...Gone are the days of the 3 hour morning nap in the swing!
Our mornings differ day to day, sometimes O will sleep solid till 7, sometimes she wakes up around 6 for a feed, so if she does i feed and we usually fall back asleep till 9 ish, if she sleeps solid till 7, then we get up for the day, but usualy 2-3 days a week we a get a sleepin day which is fine by me!
My friend had a consult with the sleep specialist...a british lady somewha like the baby whisperer and she shared a few tips with me like the the afternoon nap should be between 2-3 hours, and it should be the most protected so i started putting her down at 1 every day and we seem so be good, I've also noticed that her witching hour isn't as bad from 6-7 because she gets a good solid nap.
Since the time change i've been pushing her bedtime from 8pm back to 7 about 15 mins everyday to get back to an early bedtime and its worked out good.
Just when I think I got it..something will change next week I promise, but as for now, no more outings until naptime is over in the afternoon. I think we are gong to start our morning walk routine this week, the weather is great, I can walk to tims and get my coffee, get excersise and get some fresh air!....HOLLA TO SUMMER!!
So true with babies. Once you get it figured out something changes. =) Teaches us adaptability. You are a great mom Deena.
