Its for REAL!!

This week has been an interesting one. A little stressful at work, a few bumps in the road health wise, but to make it all worth while, we had our 12 week ultrasound and the results were perfect! Being over the age of 30 my risk increases with fetal defects, down syndrome, etc, so we agreed to have Nucheal translucency ultrasound. This is something very simple, they measure the fluid at the back of the neck, and compare it with a special blood test. This was a little nerve racking, although i was pretty confident everything was going to be okay. During the ultrasound baby was sleeping, she had to poke at my belly and it soon woke up, it stretched its legs in the air, sucked its thumb, flipped around a few times, and wiggle alot. I can't believe I don't feel it considering that thing is in my tummy. Tino was quiet suprised to see how bit it was already and asked if it had to legs and 2 arms hahaha.

When the scan was done we met in a room with the Radiologist and he went through the results. The nucheal measured 1.5 which is perfect, because it must be below 3. The heart rate was 153 which was perfect, its supposed to be between 130 and 180, and the other tests came back like 1 and 76894 births so highly unlikey for Trisomy 21, 18 and 13. We both had a sigh of relief, and walked out with a smile on our face. Here are a few pictures from the scan. Tino, myself and my sister all think I'm having a boy, so if they one day tell me its a girl......even better :)

Enjoy
