Spring is in the air!!

I Can feel it in my bones.... ( that's my favorite song right now) Spring!!! The snow is slowly starting to melt, we have the screen door open and I am totally itching to get in my yard! I registered for my ladies league golf on Friday, and our first match is on May 3rd. Tino and will have to hit some balls in the golf dome before that happens, I'm a little rusty and he needs to try out his new clubs. Here is a picture of my yard.



All the snow is off our deck. We are starting to Bar B q more and more, I'm so happy about that because its always more healthy and it tastes so good. I"m sick of cooking inside and always being cooped up in the evenings. I cannot wait to just chill in our yard, that is one thing we LOVE about owning a house. We really missed out on that before, both of us have been in condos or apartments for the last 10 years so it so nice to get our groove back with a sunny West facing yard.


This weekend I met my best friend Tanis in Banff. She had a conference at the Rimrock Hotel. The location is gorgeous. Here is the view I woke up to with the BEST COFFEE EVER!!



Isn't it gorgeous?? We spent Friday evening with dinner at the Saltlik and ended it with reading magazines and lots of laughs. That girl brings out the crazy in me, I LOVE her free spirit and good heart, we are still are best friends after 27 years. Alot has changed but we still stick by eachother. I'm sad she lives in Edmonton but we have seen alot of eachother considering she has a family!

We were supposed to ski on Saturday but instead we walked the streets of banff, spent a fortune on chocolate and came home. I bought 2 really funny toques for Tino and I, I could not wait to get home and put it on him and he LOVES it! It suits him too but like I said spring is in the air so we don't have a lot of time to wear them!





Tanis and I drank some good wine and enjoyed eachother's company and she left this morning, I miss her when I don't see her but we talk ALOT!!


Today is my favourite day..SUNDAY. We are going to Bar B Q tonight, and I am going to try and copy Saltliks Berry crumble recipe. We are also watching the hockey Game, Gonna go for a nice long walk, look for a beach vacation over Easter and enjoy our Sunday evening. Tomorrow I am back to work but only for 3 shifts because i took this weekend. Its been a nice little break!

So this past week was fantastic. We went and saw the Movie Valentines day. It was great, lots of movie stars in it but the popcorn for dinner was tasty and the company was even better.. my bff of course Mr. Fusco himself!

This past weekend our great friends came out and we hit the slopes for the first time in a year. It was so nice to smell the fur trees, breath in deep and fill our lungs with the mountain air, and just enjoy the great outdoors. I have to say Sunshine in NOT my favourite mountain. Its a bit wide open, and some of the runs are narrow, but I did good. I'm definitely don't have as much courage as I used to, but Tino is sure a Hot Dog when it comes to skiing, that guy is just plain good at everything!

We ended our evening at a really nice Italian restaurant, we were all exhausted.

Yesterday we made a trip to Lina's the Italian market. Does anyone else go there? We stocked up on pizza dough and other Italian treats. They have the coolest stuff there and all so fresh. The cheese and deli is fantastic and all the pasta you could imagine! Please go there one day, you won't be sorry

I love weekends!

I am looking forward to the bachelor tonight.

Olympics

Its been a week and probably everyday I say at least once, I can't believe we didn't go and experience it! I've never been a total Olympic craze, but for some reason this year I'm into it. I know several athletes on a personal bases so I make a point of watching them race or whatever the case may be. I work with Mike for the skeleton team so our department is all decked out with Olympic stuff to support him. Every time I have the TV on I wish i was in whistler watching sports and drinking beer hahaha.

On the other hand I can't say I was impressed with the opening ceremonies. I was going to Blog about it right after but instead I gave it a break and thought about it. I've watched other opening ceremonies and they seemed so elaborate and out of this world. Ours seemed a step below, it seems like Canada is always just a step below in things like that, like one level behind. I felt the Goth violinist wasn't a great "Canadian" trophy with his tattoos etc. K.D Lang was great but I felt there were WAY better artists they could of choose for that song. O'well, just my opinion I guess. I'm sure if I was sitting in the stands I would of thought different...and just a side note, Gretzky must of froze his Toosh off, where was his Canadian toque when he was holding the torch in the back of the truck..yeeeesh!

This week has been a good one, I've done almost everything I have planned to except wash my car, we got TON'S of snow yesterday and it was really wet so i might put that on hold. Our friends are coming in tomorrow and we are skiing on Saturday. I hpe my knee holds up, since thats how I bunged it up in the first place!

Today I'm going to meet my friends week old baby, and getting my hair done!

Cooking

I have to say, I LOVE to cook, but when my husband takes it upon himself to think of something to cook, get the ingredients, and plan his evening....I take it upon myself to sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Today I came home from work, finished my last of 8 shifts ( I had to work the holiday today) I found my husband in the kitchen. Its very relaxing to sit, drink wine and visit! I have Blogged about Sunday's before (eventhough today is Monday) and how much I love them, I've also blogged about how 7 days of work in a row is a bit much so need to talk about it any longer...

This week's activities..

- clean my house
- wash my car
- plan for me weekend, we have visitors coming and we are going skiing
-get my haircut
- enjoy my mornings with a big cup of JOE!

Valentine's Day!!

I LOVE Valentines day, probably because I have a forever Valentine!! Everything about it is fun. I was reading Valentine cards in Walmart this weekend and I had a hard time choosing one. They all had good things to say, some were very serious, but some were funny and more real. I finally picked out 2. I could not just settle on one, i picked a funny one and a nice one with not to much reading!

I have to work this weekend all the way through including Valentines, and Tino will be out of town but he gets home on the 14th. I'm kind of thinking about maybe doing a Fondue at home. I've never done one before, but my friend Erin is the Fondue pro! We have been to the grizzly house in banff and I wasn't a huge fan, it was very greesy and stinky, and the raqulette took to long to cook. If you anyone knows of a good broth receipe let me know. Also, do you suggest electric or gas fondue pot??

Vertigo.....please Buzz off, I"ve had enough of you for a while, and you are testing my patients...but I'm gonna kick your arse one day, and you will be way to scared of me to even try and haunt me again. Its been 1 week and you are not letting up. Your sneaky, and I forget about you, and then BAM...you take me on a ride. Your really quite annoying, and a nusance. I'm gonna wear high heels this weekend and pretend you don't exist...Maybe if i ignore you, you'll take the hint. I have tried that, but I better try harder. Please do not put a damper on my FABULOUS weekend I have planned with my BFF. Rae Ann is quite the girl, she will also kick your ass if your not careful.....So Vertigo?? Did you hear me?? I'm done with you, FRIENDS OFF!

..sorry where was I? This week has been a great one, every week is great, seems to always have alot of events. I had dinner last night with some girls that I have met in calgary. I love them, we had some great, "stop breathing belly laughs" last night, like almost snort wine out of my nose kinda laugh. It was great, and its always nice to catch up!

I am So ready for spring which reminds me, My ladies league golf starts up again in May. I cannot wait for this, its so awsome to look forward to getting outside, smelling the air and only concentrating on my swing!! Last year i found robins eggs, saw a baby Coyote, ate apples right of the tree, golfed in 30 degrees at the end of september, drank alot of beer and clam, and best of all, drove like a mad women on the golf cart and watched Erin eat ALOT of black aphids! Can't wait for all of that again.

Tilt a whirl....week!

Sorry its been a few days since I last posted. I don't want to dwell on the Vertigo, but its still there. Not 100%, but i still fill wavy and get dizzy if i flip my head or lay back. I have one last appointment tomorrow, I'm hoping he can put and end to it, its about enough already!!

This week is gonna be good one. I'm finished work now until next tuesday but I have ALOT on the go.

Wednesday--Dizzy clinic appt, finalize our life insurace appt, and Dinner with some girls at Bolero ( a brazilain grill)
Thursday---Dentist appt, Doctor appt
Friday---my BFF (other then Tino) Rae Ann is flying in for the weekend. I cannot wait

Somewhere in ther I need to clean my house, do some laundry, and look after myself a little bit too!

I'm off to watch the biggest Loser!
