Ottavia's Newsletter: 5 months

Ottavia, you are Growing like a little weed, it makes us so happy but yet so sad. Your true personality is coming out. You love to laugh, smile, make noises, you get excited, Happy, Sad, Tired, Grumpy, you have all the same emotions we feel. I can't believe how you have become an individual this past month. I love that we can communicate, play peek a boo etc. its so amazing. You are so much, you make us laugh everyday!!

You LOVE your jolly jumper, its your favorite things and just in the past couple days you have found your feet in it. Daddy and were laughing so hard at you, you were looking down and lifting up your foot and could not figure it out it was so funny. You talk to you toys then get excited and jump like a little jumping bean, Your already on notch 11, i hope you don't grow tooo fast.

We had your 5 month check up and you weigh 17.4 pounds and 25 inches long. Your in the 90% for weight..you have so much chubby rolls to love and kiss, especially straight out of the tub, which you love!! I love combing your hair out of the bathtub, you look up at me and smile everytime :)

Your sleeping patterns are right on track, you nap 3 times a day and the only time i let that go is if we have exercise class or a dr's appt but I'm pretty protective of your schedule. Happy baby, happy mommy and as long as you get your naps you are so happy.

This month you met aunty Tanis, Mommy's best friend o 28 years. She got your ears pierced...you cried a little bit but then you stopped. You look like such a little girl with your earings.

EVERYTHING goes in your mouth..including my arm or my hands. WHne i rum your gums you make funny noises and you LOVE it. Your cheeks are red and your drooling like crazy but no new teeth yet. You LOVE books, and are starting to grab the hard pages and turn them, you grab for everything now, this is something quite new.

Everyday you make us so happy, I love going to get you in the morning, i missed you all night long, you greet me with smiles and coo's and you kick like crazy on your change pad.

Ottavia, you bring so much Joy to our lives, and its only been 5 months, but I can Honestly say as the months pass by parenthood gets better and better. You teach me so much and I hope I teach you. We love you so much

Dollar Store Boycott....

I have Never been a dollar store fan, for the time it takes to just quickly pick things i need up while i'm getting groceries etc, I'd rather save the time and effort for flossing my teeth... ( i hate flossing but i do it EVERYDAY) I also hate clutter so I don't deciede i'm just going to the dollar store to look around. The only thing I've ever bought from there is change rollers, and that was because i was parked in front of one once, and saw them in the window and needed them.

I honestly think they carry CRAP......and now I'm totally convinced that dollar store stuff is crap. I read an article in my today's parent magazine and it clarified for me that things at the dollar store are unsafe...EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT. Baby toys from a dollar store...really?? no thanks, some unsafe bpa plastic container, or some toy that goes in my babies mouth with paint that has chemicals in it, or some old gross chocolate bar thats been shipped in, full of radiation from Japan.....Yup....thats my opinion and i'm sticking to it.

So the next time your at the dollar store think twice about what your buying...is it safe enough for your baby to put in its mouth???....do you really need another platic container or gift bag?????

Its a true sign....

I SAW MY FIRST ROBIN TODAY...digging his beak into my garden looking for all the SPRING WORMS...thats right folks, SPRING I SAID...I belive its finally here and today TIno Ottavia and I celebrated!

We had a great weekend, I watched 2 movies, Friday night we watch little Fockers and last night I watch Black swan, it freaked me out, i had to read and explanation online i was a bit confused..it was weird.

Today was a really great day, I LOVE sundays, morning coffee with newspaper on sun on my back, play time with the babe and daddy, it was nice. I even got to get groceries all by myself, what a treat and so easy on my own.

We went for a 4 km walk on the river, it was gorgeous out. I love the "smell' of spring, i think its mixture of grass mold, dog poop soup, dirty snow and mud, and budding trees. I was actually HOT, and Ottavia snoozed the whole walk.

Tonight we had our first bar b q of the season, I"m telling you you, no more comfort oven food, i'm soo done, i bought groceries today ONLY for the bar b q for dinner's, its healthy, it tastes great, and the clean up is easy. We made hamburgers tonight, Tino does this special thing with cheese and onion its so delicious!

Here are a few pictures of our feast, it includes, homeade marinated veggie salad, homeade pasta salad, beans and burgers....you know when your out walking and you can smell someone bar b quing??? tonight that was my house :)

..things to look forward too....

I have SOO much to look forward too, and some are not all that extravagant...

1. Test driving mini vans and lunch with my husband on saturday
2. Dinner and Comedy Cave on Thursday night with my girls group
3. Easter...with my chicken nugget, hopefully my parents and my husband
4. A weekend in Edmonton at the end of april with my momma and babe to do some shopping
5. My vacation to Grande Prairie for 10 days in may
6. The snow melting and getting my hands dirty in my garden
7. Having the ENTIRE summer off with my baby, going to the zoo, swimming, walking slurpy drinking etc

Those are just a few that are at the top of my list :)
