My favourite Age!

Ottavia is now 7 months and counting, and so far this is the age that we have so far enjoyed the most. Here are a few reasons....

The guessing is over- although from the first couple days as a newborn i had Ottavia pretty much on a 3 hours schedule and my first real task I wanted to conquer was getting a full feed. With nursing and bottle feeding it was tricky at times, but I DID NOT want a snacker because it would make things hard and I did a pretty good job. But now that what I really love is that the guessing game is over of when and what to expect next. Now i know exactly when she takes her bottles, when she takes her naps and when she eats her solids, but also its doesn't have to be to the exact minute, we have time to play with, unlike a new baby, we would feed her and get her in her carseat as fast as we could and we knew we had 3 hours before she needed her bottle....and mean REALLY NEED A BOTTLE RIGHT NOW OR ELSE!! I also love that i can schedule appts or play times or whatever because i know her schedule. Everyone laughed at me when i was pregnant when i told them i'm going to sleep train and have ottavia on a good schedule......HA..now i can laugh at them cause I DID IT!!

Sleeping---one of the HARDEST things we have overcome was napping..Ottavia struggled with the 45 minute intruder for a long time and getting her to nap in her crib took alot of work. Yes i'm one of those mothers that stays home every afternoon and cannot go to the zoo or meet at the park because i'm so protective of O's naps. I also love that she goes to bed at 7 no problem and we usually don't hear from her till 7 again, although the odd night she wakes and needs some love which i'm ok with. I believe that sleep counts on sleep, not...oh if she doesn't nap she will sleep better in the night..WRONG..its the opposite, although there is no more sleeping in the carseat, gone are the days of a sleeping baby while your shopping!

We make eachother laugh-----ahhhh I LOVE this, now Ottavia makes us laugh so much, and we can make her laugh too. I love to act silly and she screeches with joy and giggles and laughs back. Its so fun that she can react to us like that. she LOVES peek-a-boo, as soon as she see's me duck and hide she instantly closes her eyes and waits for me to pop up somewhere!


SHe LOVES us-----Ottavia plays strange BIG TIME. I thought i would have this outgoing baby but instead she loves her mommy and dada. She looks for us and watches our every move to make sure we are in her sight! We especially love going in her room in the morning. She usually talks and plays for a while before we get her up but as soon as she see's us she gets so excited!


I could go on and on and on about how much fun she is now, don't get me wrong we can't pack up and go to vegas like we used to but, things are much more easier now that she is not a teeny baby.....ugh..thinking about having a newborn again honestly make's me feel like barfing! Now we have it soo good it will be hard to go back one day if we want another one because the trials and tribulations of a new baby is alot. Its not all roses and although i adjusted to having a baby really well, its a HUGE change.

As i sit here and type this Ottavia is napping but we are going to meet our 4th day home lady this afternoon. Wish us luck, there are some crazy people out there!

itsy bitsy spider....

The people that know me the best are Tino, my mom, and my sister....but if you know me at all, you will know one thing, I HATE BUGS, I hate any teeny bug fly mosquito aunt spider wasp bee aphid in the world. Not only do i hate them i'm scared of them and they seem to flock to me.

Our basement is finished but boy oh boy do we have spiders. Seriously every morning when i go to the basement or tino goes down there, low and behold, there is usually at least one spider curled in a small web around the night light. Its disgusting they are brown, not overly big but seriously gross. We used to put these sticky pads out and honestly there would be spiders galore on them, I cannot stand it anymore and i don't know what to do.

The other day i walked through a web and i screeched, ottavia heard me upstairs and got scared herself, i didn't know if i had a spider on me or caught in my hair or just the web. It freaked me out.

Last year at my parents place my mom and I were sitting outside eating a popsicle on a hot summer day and a spider came crawling accross...and fat one that was grey with black spots and two bodies, almost like a cartoon spider, my mom squished it with a her popsicle stick and MILLIONS of BABIES came out.....I WILL NEVER GET THAT OUT OF MY HEAD....something I did not want to see....

My friend Monica told me she flushes them because they can come back alive..SICK, just what I need to hear. Thanks goodness we don't live in Mckenzie towne anymore because our yard used to be COVERED in webs and there were large spiders everywhere, maybe its because of a new are but it was sick.

Hopefully all this rain today will " wash the spiders out" :)
