Today is the day I celebrate eternal love...I'm in love and I love TIno. We have so much to share together that only husband and wive's would understand. Today is a day for Tino and I ....we will cheers with a glass of champaigne to our 2 years of Love.!!! ( probably before midnight hahahaha)

Christmas 2010
Now that I have had a few days to take it all in, our First christmas with ottavia was amazing. It started on the 19th, Ottavia and I flew alone to Grande Prairie a few days earlier then Tino. I was nervous going into this, it took a lot of preparing, packing, research in regards to what i can take on the plane for bottles, water etc but we did it without a hitch...although....once through security I fed ottavia her bottle, she was happy, then i heard the sounds of a huge Blow out...that it was, all the way up her back, poopsie EVERYWHERE, but as a planner i was prepared for it, good thing it happened before we got on the plane with a few minutes to spare, she slept the whole flight.
Our week long vacations was full of good Vino, delicious food cooked by my amazing mother, lots of catch up with good friends and family, singing christmas songs, and relaxing by my parents wood burning fireplace. It was so christmasy!!
Although we had a great time it was exhausting too, Ottavia got a little off schedule and she slept in our room in a playpen which was not super great but we had to make due. As a mother i heard every grunt and squeek. She has never slept in our room so we aren't used to hearing everything. Thanks to my mom she had everything we needed, blankets, diapers, sheets, change pads..EVERYTHING....she was so prepared for us so that meant less packing.
Now that we are home we are back on schedule, our little baby girl is sleeping 4.5-5 hour stretches....to bad i'm not haha I"m so used to getting up 3 hours at a time that i wake up but last night i slept through. I'm so proud of her, and going down the first time every night is getting easier. At only 5 weeks old i have to say all my reading and perservearence and totally paid off. The whole self soothing, learn how to fall asleep on her own thing has made so much sense, we are a very happy house hold.

Parking...
Now I know the reason why people don't park over the yellow line.....
Safeway..blowing snow...screaming baby...someone has sandwiched me.....SO MAD, I couldn't open my door or the back door to put the baby seat in so I went in and they overhead paged....it was the teenage girl, who worked at starbucks.....the manager wasn't happy...
On a happy note, our baby loves her bath.... Happy weekend everyone!!

Multi-tasking
I have become SOOOO good at this, weather its laundry, cleaning, shopping...or even a little pampering, multi-tasking has become MY LIFE.....who says you don't get R & R with a new babe. Erin and I have the right idea.....we got a lot of looks and alot of stares....but all in all it went well...although somone had to have a poopsie at the spa..miss Josie isn't shy about anything :)

19 sleeps
I can't believe Ottavia has only been breathing in this world for 19 sleeps. Unbelievable. She is growing like a weed, almost to fast for me. Some of her sleepers are already to short :(
Things are changing daily, we are soo busy. I"m always on the go, thanks to the sleep i get at night. We usually put her down at 9pm and she gets up every 3 hours after, her last feeding being around 6-ish then she gets up at 9am. Its perfect, and it works for us. Her long morning nap in her swing is helpfull for me, i have time do what i need to do around the house, including shower.
Last evening while sitting in her bouncey chair helping me make dinner she puked her whole bottle projectile, I totally paniced but it didn't seem to phase her. She was totally hungry after so I'm thinking somethine wasn't digested from the afternoon, maybe to long in her carseat while i was shopping, or...reflux. Thereafter everything was just fine.
She LOVES her bath. She is so adorable in it, i keep the bathroom really warm and the water warmer then luke and she just kicks and plays. Her hair gets greasy if she doesn't bath, she must have her daddys olive oil skin :)
Ottavia has found her thumb, its the most adorable thing, it usually only finds its way in her mouth when she is hungry. SHe is not crazy about the soother but after night feedings i try and stick it in and she soothes herself to sleep which is fine by me. I know they say no props, but she is 3 weeks old and a soother won't kill anyone...that saying if she doesn't gag on it. Almost every ultrasound her thumb was in her mouth so i'm thinking it will only happen more often.
We love you baby girl and can't imagine our life without you. You are so worth the effort. I love going in your room in the morning while your kicking and being such a big girl in your crib waiting patiently for me or daddy to pick you up. I love bringing you down stairs and singing our happy mornin' song while you listen and look around. xoxo

Stomach flu....stay away...
So word on the street is that the Stomach flu has hit Calgary like Wild Fire. I had it last year for my birthday and it is wicked. I'm really hoping it doesn't enter our house this year, I need my health and i can't imagine my newborn getting it...
We attended our first party on saturday, it was a success. Ottavia was fed before we went so daddy just snuggled her while we sipped vino and had a few snacks. I was afraid to eat to much, just because of that tummy bug, its the perfect environment for it to linger around with everyones hands on food. We have another party on friday! Everyone couldn't believe we were there with our newborn...but yet impressed at the same time. Tino and I make a good team, I don't find it stressfull leaving the house at all!
Speaking of Newborn, my baby if officialy not a newborn anymore...WHAT???? Those words were devasting to me :( Although everyone still says..how is life with a newborn. Her belly button fell off a week ago already, she now eats 4 oz's at a time, and she wants to hold her head up so bad! I'm thinking she will be smiling real smiles by christmas..
Thats all for now. My monday has already consisted of laundry, and clean the main floor and a pork pot roast ready for the oven. I really want to make it to the Bay one of these days and H&M to get me a few things to wear over christmas. My jeans fit now, and I'm hoping they fit even better in a couple weeks. Who knew that baby weight would fly off like that. I don't have the appetite I used too and eating kind of fits in wherever.

8 pounds of Goodness!!
Thats my bundle..she is 8 pounds of goodness. We had a Dr's visit today and everything is perfect. Baby Ottavia is doing fabulous..eating, sleeping, peeing and pooping like no other. She is such a great baby and I enjoy spending time with her. This week has been busy with visitor's. I try to plan visits around her nap time so they can snuggle with her while she naps, that way i can keep on track with schedule.
We've had several outings this week, Photo's on monday morning, a trip to sobeys and walmart just me and her, a visit to the clinic girls and a special store to buy a baby carrier and today we were at walmart, the bay and the Dr. We try to get out but it seems like we've been out ALOT..but thats okay I like it, although its all about the timing. As long as I have a fed baby we are good to go!
Daddy has been on duty in the evening, actually its more family chillin time but tino has got making bottles feeding burping and putting her down pat. He's not crazy about the diapers but we'll get there, its only been 2 weeks and he is doing Fabulous.
Today we purchased a mini fridge for her room, I have to supplement with formula so we are making this as easy and convienent as possible in the night, every second counts!!
